"Should One go for Used Cars??" - The most exciting topic..

Hey Guys and Girls!! Hope you all are doing great and staying safe these days....

Sorry for the long absence from blogger.. Actually was a bit busy with some other stuffs..

Hope all of you are wearing proper mask, using sanitizer every now and then and maintaining social distance. I ask all of you to keep the points in mind and action so that we all can stay safe in this pandemic situation.

Social distancing is must these days and economically strong people are choosing their own vehicles to commute and stay safe. Now for all it is difficult to go for new cars, so I thought of discussing the topic:

"Should One go for Used Cars??"

According to me,    YES one can surely go for a car that is used or that has got one or may be two owners at the past. Now the question arises:

Is there really any benefit of buying used car?

The answer is YES, there are not just one benefit but many if one can properly choose a used car.

Now, let us discuss about the benefits:

Firstly, a car that is used can be brought at a cheaper price compared to a new car. If the cost of a new car is taken to be 10 lakh INR then for a same make and model used car the price will be somewhere around 7.5 lakh INR to 8 lakh INR provided the car is around 3 years old and driven around 30k to 50k km.
Secondly, in addition to the cheap price one also gets rid of the burden of the registration cost and the road tax. Again , if one is fortunate enough one can also get a car that is insured.
Thirdly, if one can source a good conditioned car then again one can get some fun from the very first day of ownership as the previous owner already broke-in the engine.

And what more does one want? But before buying make sure the condition of the car is good and is worth buying.. I will soon upload a series of blogs that will guide you all to select the used car of your wish.
And before driving make sure to buckle your seat belt and before riding wear a helmet and always carry your license as only that gives you the permission to ride or drive you vehicle on the roads of India.

Choice of Cars Made Easy.

Hey Guyzzzz and Girls!!
Whats up??

This is your friend Avijit Chatterjee..

Welcome to "The Vehicle Genre" and here I'm with the 4th utility blog.

Some information to share with you people regarding choice of cars.

Today most people want to buy their own cars but people often make wrong choices of cars due to the lack of appropriate and proper knowledge. Today we shall discuss how you will be able to judge which car is the best for you.

I shall tell you few simple steps through which you will be able to select the right car for you.

Firstly, see your own requirements i.e., the reason behind buying the car. Consider your family strength and then judge the seating capacity you want to go for. Judge your daily running so that you can select the fuel you want to go for,

Secondly, after you realize your requirements, choose the category of vehicle you want to go for,

Thirdly, decide your budget,

Fourthly, make a list of cars present in your chosen category suiting your budget.

Half the process is complete i.e., your homework is done and it is now time to get out in the market.

Firstly, reach out to all the dealers whose cars you have shortlisted. Arrange for test drives and try to understand the car.
*Remember to put on your seat-belt and instruct the sales person to put on his seat belt while you test drive the car.

Secondly, inquire about the maintenance costs of all the selected vehicle and judge your own capabilities to keep up with that.

After the above stated two procedures are completed you are pretty much ready with your choice. One suggestion from my side is that: Firstly, do not at all compromise the looks and performance of a car with anything, Secondly, see the fuel economy, and Thirdly, judge the maintenance figures.

Thank you so much for checking out the blog, do let me know if it helped you and share the website www.thevehiclegenre.blogspot.com to make your near, dear and loved ones knowledgeable about vehicles. To follow up with my updated posts don't forget to drop your e-mail address.

The Hero Pleasure Story - A short experience.

Hey Guyzzzz and Girls!!
Whats up??

This is your friend Avijit Chatterjee..

Welcome to "The Vehicle Genre" and here I'm with the 3rd utility blog..

These days I'm bit irregular because I was a bit busy these days, but here I come with these new blog. Actually some days back I went on a small ride of 80km with an elderly friend of mine in his 2017 Hero Pleasure.
Yes this is the scooter that we have ridden..
This scooter clocked around 3380km approx. and I spent a good time with this scooter in some rides so I feel I can make an experience blog now and definitel
y after few days i will be doing a review of it.

Pleasure by Hero is a good product in the 100 cc segment and truly justify the official tagline: "Why Should Boys Have All The Fun?" So, you can easily understand that this scooter is not in any way meant for male riders. Its power and torque justifies its small body though at times it feels low. And if you think of riding this scooter on highways please do not go for it but if you think of riding this scooter on local roads then this is a good option. Coming to the average, it gave us 40kmpl which is kind of fine and it also depends on how you ride it.

Coming to the suspensions, it is good with the swing arm type in the rear and bottom link with spring-loaded hydraulic damper type in the front. The suspensions does not make you feel bumpy all through the journey, but soon we hope to see telescopic forks in the front which in turn will make the vehicles suspension a lot better.

Look-wise Hero Pleasure is very stylish with all the bright and contrasting colour graphics all throughout its body and coloured mirrors..

This blog is all about my experience about this vehicle, and is free from any kind of biasness.

Thank you so much for checking out the blog, do let me know if it helped you and share the website www.thevehiclegenre.blogspot.com to make your near, dear and loved ones knowledgeable about vehicles.

So, people hold your breath tight and wait for the next blog.

Learn how to apply brakes in an effective way.

Hey Guyzzzz and Girls!!
Whats up??

This is your friend Avijit Chatterjee..

Welcome to "The Vehicle Genre"

Up with the 2nd utility blog. Today this blog is about a very important topic and can help one to save ones life, one from sufferings and ones vehicle.

We all know how to drive or ride a vehicle, and when we first learn to drive or ride a vehicle we go excited and pick up good speeds. Isn't it so? Now if we are driving or riding at high speeds we must have the knowledge of braking the vehicle to rest, overcoming the inertia of motion.

Yes this blog is all about stopping a vehicle in a proper and safe manner i.e., Applying Brakes.

In the present days, majority of the vehicles come with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) but there are non ABS vehicles as well in the road because in the prior times standard model vehicles and why standard even top model vehicles were devoid of ABS. ABS is a safety feature and is the short form of Anti-lock Braking System, it prevents the wheels of a vehicle from skidding as it prevents the wheels of vehicles from locking up, thereby maintaining the benefit of being steerable. Therefore, if one applies full pressure on the brake pedal/lever of an ABS vehicle then it will stop safely, but what is the scenario of the same act on a non ABS-vehicle?

Yes it will skid, will become non-steerable, and will increase itself's braking distance thereby concluding into a mess.

How to avoid this?

To avoid the aforesaid conclusions follow this simple tips, though I'm stating the tips to be simple they are not that simple unless and otherwise you give it a try in the open and empty roads taking full precautions.

The first thing you need to care about is that the wheels of your vehicle should not lock, if your vehicle's wheels are not locked then the vehicle will never skid. So in order to ensure that your vehicles wheels are not locked, you will have to brake your vehicle in a very tactical way, and the ingredients of the aforesaid action is that you must not put heavy pressure on the brake pedal/liver suddenly at once and be gentle enough to increase the pressure slowly so that you feel the brake pads in work. This feeling will make you understand the very moment, when your wheels are locking and just then you can prevent your vehicle from skidding by lessening the pressure a bit which in turn will not lock your vehicles wheels thereby keeping it steerable and making the braking distance minimum.

Use engine braking as well in situations. Engine braking is when you put lower gears at high speeds, the transmission engages lower gears as per your instruction and when the clutch is released a resistance is created which slows down your vehicle as well.

Don't panic in emergency situations and instead keep your calm so that it gets easy for you to take necessary actions as per the situation. Again don't slam the brake pedal/liver instead gradually build up pressure as that will lead to a much more effective braking. And do not practice the above in busy roads, first find a empty road and practice to grow the skill of effective braking in you and when you are done you are a safe driver on the road.

Engine braking is much more effective in vehicles with manual transmission as compared to that of automatic transmission. So take care of that. Gradual braking process is the only effective braking option for the drivers of automatic transmission.

Hope you understood this article well. If you find this blog-post useful do check my other blog-posts in www.thevehiclegenre.blogspot.com and share this blog-posts and website to your near, dear and known ones to make them educated, safe and aware in this field.

So, people hold your breath tight and wait for the next blog..

Increase your vehicles mileage by following these simple tricks.

Hey Guyzzzz and Girls!!
Whats up??

This is your friend Avijit Chatterjee..

Welcome to "The Vehicle Genre"

In the introductory blog I said, "Do get ready for the next post that will help you save money while driving Cars and riding Bikes, and why just money?? The BLOG will also state how to take care of mother EARTH in-spite of exploiting the natural resources." &
here I'm with the 1st utility blog.

We all know very well that if we drive a car or ride a bike, we subject ourselves as a money bank, created to invest money with no hope to get a return in the same form. The major costs being - fueling the vehicle up to drive or ride it, then comes maintenance and then comes the insurance, PUC, etc.paper kinds of stuff.

Here I can't help you with the paper kind of staffs because that part is governed by the government, but yes I can help you with the other two staffs i.e., fueling and maintenance.

Broadly classifying vehicles (for private use):
1. Cars
2. Bikes

These days both the vehicles are coming in both variants -
- Vehicles with manual transmission, and,
- Vehicles with automatic transmission.

Fuel Saving Tips For Vehicles With Manual Transmission:
  • Try to maintain constant speeds ranging between 70kmph to 100 kmph on highways (*obviously if road and traffic permits you else 40-45 kmph works the best.) In addition I would also say that use the maximum possible gear for any speed, e.g.- If your vehicles speed is 30 kmph try using the 3rd or 4th gear, if your vehicle supports that.
  • When struck in city traffic try to stay cool by rolling the windows down, switching off the A.C. and turning off the car.
  • It does not at all matter if your ac is running during high speed drive as no vehicle will give good mileage if windows are opened during high speed rides.
  • Check the tyres' pressure at regular intervals and keep the tyres' filled as per the recommendation of the car/bike manufacturer.
  • Remember you love your vehicle, so, don't be harsh on the ACCELERATOR PEDAL/TWISTER or the BRAKE PEDAL (*the more you press the Accelerator, the more is the amount of fuel burnt, and if you are harsh on the accelerator then you will definitely feel the need of braking the vehicle, thereby preventing the engine from giving the output that you actually paid for by becoming harsh on the accelerator.)
  • Use the clutch pedal/lever only when it is necessary.

Bikers: Follow the 1st, 4th, 5th & 6th bullets. And in bikes please try to maintain speeds between 40-45 kmph.
Fuel Saving Tips For Vehicles With Automatic Transmission:

Follow the first five bullet under the heading "Fuel Saving Tips For Vehicles With Manual Transmission:"

Bikers: These days automatic transmissions are highly in use in scooters made by the companies like- Honda, Yamaha, Hero, Mahindra etc.. These scooters starts only when one engaging the brakes press the start button, that is fine but the thing that creates problem is that riders ride their scooters engaging 30% brakes and accelerating hard, which consumes a lot of fuel,
so, valuable tips:

  • Do not press the brake lever even 1% when the vehicle is under acceleration, press the brakes only when you feel the necessity.
  • Do not accelerate your vehicle hard, be gentle when it comes to acceleration.
  • Maintain a speed of 40-45 kmph as that will fetch you the maximum mileage.

Now if you are getting an increased average, you are definitely saving some amount of your hard-earned  money. It very clearly brings out that if you follow the aforesaid bullet points then you are surely taking care of your vehicle as well as you are very gentle with it. This gentle nature will save a good amount of money because the maintenance of the vehicle will go low.

The consumption of fuel being less again helping Mother Earth to stay fit for some additional period of time and also some fuel will be saved for the future generation.

Thank you  all. And do let me know by commenting if the tips helped you to save fuel.
So, people hold your breath tight and wait for the next blog..
